Lake George
In this landscape
I see the sleeping
form of a woman
lying on her back.
The hills are the
soft curves of
her breasts,
belly,
thighs.
The shoreline beckons
my finger to travel
down, down.
If she rolled over
I could trace the
curve of her spine
down and drown
in the lavender
reflecting pool
at her feet.
Notes:
Inspired by an early Georgie O'Keeffe landscape.
